Base pay range $30.00/hr - $40.00/hr Overview TITLE: Content Writer and Creator ANTICIPATION DURATION: 4+ months LOCATION: Atlanta, GA or New York, NY We’re searching for a creative, versatile writer to join our content team and help reimagine how audiences experience weather storytelling. This role blends live weather coverage, blog writing, and social media content—always delivered in a way that feels approachable, engaging, and real. The Impact You’ll Have Write and edit engaging blogs, articles, video scripts, and social media content. Cover live and breaking weather events with speed and accuracy. Add color and anecdotes that make weather content conversational and relatable. Collaborate with editors, producers, and designers on multimedia storytelling. Help shape brand voice that’s fun, quirky, and approachable—not overly corporate or technical. Balance accuracy and creativity, producing multiple stories quickly under deadline. Stay informed on weather and cultural trends to create timely, relevant content. Use audience engagement tools and analytics to improve reach and performance. Contribute to live video and on-camera updates (preferred but not required). Must Have 3+ years of professional writing experience (journalism, creative, or travel writing). Strong ability to write quickly, clearly, and creatively under tight deadlines. Versatility to move between blogs, live updates, and social posts. Experience writing for digital platforms, with an understanding of SEO and audience engagement. Interest in branding and marketing, with a voice that’s casual and engaging (not “corporate”). Passion for weather and making it accessible to broad audiences. Nice to Have Meteorology background or strong ability to communicate weather clearly. Familiarity with video production, digital publishing tools, or content marketing. A fresh, conversational writing style that resonates with younger audiences. Other Details Location: Atlanta or New York. Schedule: Weekend availability required (rotating: both weekend days, one weekend day, or Sun–Thurs with weekend remote coverage). Shifts: Typically 7 AM – 3 PM on non-active weather days. During major events (e.g., hurricanes), shifts may alter with advance notice. The hourly pay rate range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
