Under the direction of the Division Director of the Career and College Transition Division, the Education Administrator I performs administrative tasks that support the implementation and administration of the activities, projects, programs, and staff of the CTELO. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:Provide leadership for the following: CTELO staff; career technical education (CTE) pathways and programs in California; statewide industry sector advisory committee development, industry-based certification, programs of study, course sequencing, and career pathways implementation; the California Workforce Pathways Joint Advisory Committee, State Work Experience, Work-based Learning, Direct Support Professional Training, and CalWORKs programs; the development of CTE legislative and administrative reports.
Ensure that products are produced in accordance with established policies and practices; conduct analyses of CTE legislative proposals and other policy-related proposals; prepare testimony for legislative hearings, gather feedback, and make sound recommendations to the Division Director on implementation strategies for various programs.

TELEWORK OPTION
HYBRID
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office.

Experience with:
1. Leading CTE programs or secondary education programs and working with diverse student groups, K–12 educators, parents, and community stakeholders.
2. Managing and/or working with multi-disciplinary professional and technical staff to advance the activities of CTE programs.
3. Developing and implementing educational programs such as strategic planning, performance measurement, benchmarking, and organizational development.
4. Effectively planning, implementing, and monitoring state and federal funding at the administrative level, including budgeting, grants management, monitoring, establishing effective controls, and reporting of results.
5. High school administration or managing career and college readiness programs.
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Experience administering CTE programs in a school district, county office of education, or other educational agency, or teaching experience in an Industry Sector at the secondary level is essential.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of all CTE programs, trends, and services, related to the implementation of activities and initiatives to improve CTE pathways across the state.
• A systematic understanding of the division’s Superintendent’s educational philosophy is critical in this position.
• Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills, and good organizational habits are all essential.
