Job Description
As a Furniture Mover and Installer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, assembly, and installation of commercial furniture and office equipment at various client locations. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Packing and Transportation:** Safely pack, load, and transport furniture and related items to and from client locations using company vehicles.
- **Assembly and Installation:** Accurately assemble and install a wide range of office furniture, including desks, chairs, cabinets, and cubicles, as per manufacturer instructions and client requirements.
- **Inventory Management:** Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and furniture items, ensuring nothing is lost or damaged during transit.
- **Customer Service:** Provide outstanding service to clients by communicating effectively, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the installation process.
- **Safety Compliance:** Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of injury or damage to property. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to complete jobs efficiently and on time. Assist colleagues as needed.
- **Site Clean-Up:** Ensure that client sites are left clean and tidy post-installation by removing all packaging materials and debris.
**Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of experience in furniture moving, installation, or a related field preferred.
- **Physical Fitness:** Must be physically capable of lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and working on your feet for extended periods.
- **Technical Skills:** Ability to use hand tools and power tools for furniture assembly. Basic understanding of reading installation manuals and diagrams.
- **Customer Service Skills:** Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients professionally and courteously.
- **Driving License:** Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate company vehicles.
- **Punctuality and Reliability:** Must be dependable, punctual, and able to adhere to schedules and deadlines.
- **Problem-Solving:** Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet to resolve issues that arise during installations.
- **Background Check:** Must pass a background check as a condition of employment.
- **Drug-Free Workplace:** Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace environment.
**Working Conditions:**
- **Environment:** Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in client offices and various locations. Exposure to varying weather conditions may be required.
- **Schedule:** Full-time position with potential for overtime during peak periods. Flexibility to work on weekends or holidays as needed.
