Job Description

Lead Dog Trainer – Make a Difference, One Wag at a Time!

Location: In Person, Boise, ID

Do you love dogs? Have a passion for people and dogs?

If so, Zoom Room - Boise wants YOU to join our energetic, fun-loving, dog-obsessed team!

We’re more than a dog training center — we’re a canine social club and community hub. Our group classes are upbeat, exciting, and packed with purpose — and we’re looking for dynamic dog training sales associates to lead the pack!

Our motto is “We don’t train dogs. We train the people who love them.” That's why our approach focuses on clear compassionate communication with people of all ages and backgrounds, whether in group classes or private sessions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate incoming dogs and recommend appropriate type of training (private vs. group, beginner vs. advanced)
  • Lead engaging group dog training classes & private lessons (no prior dog training experience needed!)
  • Coach people just as much as their pups — we train the humans, it’s actually our motto!
  • Create fun, positive experiences for all dogs — from basic obedience to agility courses
  • Assist in updating and refining the training curriculum to stay current with the most recent developments in positive reinforcement dog training
  • Supervise social events and playgroups
  • Promote and sell appropriate retail items and class packages during and after classes
  • Conduct high-energy orientations with prospective clients, educate them on our programs, and close sales by enrolling them in the best-fit membership plan.
  • Maximize your earning potential by making lead follow-up calls (don’t worry — no cold calling, just connecting with clients who want to hear from us as a way to increase your earning potential)
  • Set up equipment (yes, it’s active – lifting up to 50 lbs)
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the facility, including but not limited to stocking shelves, cleaning the gym, answering the phone and other client inquiries, and monitoring the front desk while providing superior customer service
  • Keep the energy up and the tails wagging — every single shift!

Who You Are:

  • Confident , outgoing, and great at commanding a room
  • Passionate about dogs and positive reinforcement training
  • Comfortable selling services or memberships — you're persuasive and helpful and eager to increase your earning potential
  • Available evenings & weekends

You’ll Need:

  • Experience training your own dog(s) or professionally, using force -free positive reinforcement training methods.
  • A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to positive reinforcement training
  • Confidence speaking with people — you’re comfortable guiding conversations and leading groups
  • A natural ability to match clients with the right membership or product to drive sales
  • Reliable, upbeat energy — you help create a positive, supportive atmosphere
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (agility equipment, not the dogs!) and be flexible enough to bend down easily to work with small dogs and puppies.
  • Basic tech/computer skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Must successfully complete Zoom Room’s proprietary training program upon hire within established timeline.
  • Keen observational and critical thinking skills with an ability to think on one’s feet
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • The ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with or training dogs in either a private or group setting a plus
  • Proven sales experience a plus
  • Prior experience speaking in or facilitating group settings a plus
  • CPDT-KA certification, Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) certification a plus

Perks & Benefits:

  • $16/hr - $20/hr + 10% shift differential + bonus potential
  • Bonus and commission opportunities based on team and individual performance/sales
  • Employee discounts on retail and services
  • Paid, hands-on training, certification process & mentorship to further your dog training career
  • Room to grow and expand your knowledge with the company via training certifications and promotions
  • A workplace filled with joy, dogs, and community
