LAW ENFORCEMENT OPPORTUNITY PORT ALLEN CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Port Allen Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer (Post Certified Preferred).
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Valid Louisiana Driver’s License.
3. Be at least Twenty-One (21) years of age.
4. Physically capable of performing the duties of a Law Enforcement Officer.
5. Reside within 25 miles of Port Allen City Limits.
6. Post Certification Required
7. Highly motivated and able to function efficiently under stressful situations.
8. Must have good Computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as good written and verbal communication skills.
9. Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, superiors, public officials and the general public.
THE APPLICANT HIRED FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE TEACHABLE AND WILLING TO LEARN NEW WAYS AND BE SERVICE MINDED. FINALISTS FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE SUBJECT TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE, PHYSICAL FITNESS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING. STARTING SALARY FOR AN OFFICER (P.O.S.T. CERTIFIED) IS
$47,661.12/YR. WITH AN ADDITIONAL $600 PER MONTH FROM STATE SUPPLEMENTAL PAY. (ONCE ELIGIBLE) PAY IS NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE. OTHER BENEFITS INCLUDE THE USE OF A TAKE HOME UNIT, RETIREMENT PACKAGE AND PAID HOLIDAYS!
