We're hiring for a Post Office Clerk on the North Slope!

Brooks Range Supply is seeking a professional and customer-focused Post Office Clerk for our Post Office operations in Prudhoe Bay. In this position, you will be responsible for daily post office operations, customer service, mail, postage, freight, post office window service, general store sales and exceeding expectations to provide an exceptional experience.

To excel in this role, you must be approachable and detail-oriented with proven hospitality or customer service experience. Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills while being detail oriented and exceeding expectations to provide an exceptional customer experience.

North Slope-based position requiring rotational schedule: This position requires a rotational commitment to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska working (2x2 or 3x3) weeks-on/weeks-off rotation.

A typical day in this position will include getting an early start, going from your room to get breakfast and then reporting to work at the Post Office onsite between 6-8am. After you report to work you'll be assisting in filing duties, talking to customers who walk-in, processing urgent or valuable mail, weighing letters and measuring parcels, computing mailing costs based on type, weight and destination, affixing correct postage. Shifts are worked in 12hours at a time, meaning a 6am start shift leads to a 6pm end shift.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess documentation to prove eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Pass pre‐employment drug screen and a Fit-for-Duty physical exam
• Pass pre-employment criminal background check going back 7 years
• Must be able to travel to/from North Slope (Deadhorse, AK)
• Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted

• Previous Post Office, administrative knowledge, or experience strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem‐solving skills
• Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
• Ability to function well in a high‐paced and at times stressful environment
• Ability to take initiative as well as work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft office programs
