General Description:

The Production Assistant (PA) will assist the staff to achieve quality production goals through teamwork and job flexibility on a daily basis. Production Assistants will not supervise certified employees, but may be required on occasion to reinforce the instructions provided by the Production Floor Supervisor (PFS). The PA will be required to complete training that pertains to his or her safety and well-being. The PA will be expected to stay on task while performing the duties assigned and function as a role model for certified employees by demonstrating a positive attitude, punctuality, initiative, and adherence to established agency policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

• Demonstrate dignity, respect, and positive attitude while working with people with disabilities.
• Assist certified employees in acquiring and emptying containers used for sorting and production processes.
• Prepare and clean-up of production areas.
• Operate production equipment, including balers, shredder, densifier, pallet jack, and fork lift.
• Become proficient in operation of production jobs at Boonslick Industries.
• Maintain appropriate sanitation, maintenance, care, use and security of facility property and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Abide by Unlimited Opportunities, Inc. Policies and Procedures as a condition of employment.
• Promote safety practices and procedures in all aspects of job duties, including but not limited to; supervision of clients, program areas, transportation, integration, equipment, and lifting.
• Complete all training provided by Boonslick Industries, Inc. including, but not limited to: First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse and Neglect.
• Be flexible in a busy industrial setting in regards to job assignments and hours of work.

Qualifications

Required:

Some previous work experience.

Demonstrate ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Possess basic math and calculator skills.

Desired:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
