Job Title: Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder – Contract to Hire

Location: Remote (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, KY, AR, AZ, MD)

Pay: $32–40

Contract Type: Contract to Hire

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder to join on a remote, contract-to-hire basis. This role focuses on complex inpatient rehab charts with multiple comorbidities and multi-trauma patients.

Responsibilities:

• Code Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF) PAI charts using CMG vs. DRG guidelines and IRF PPS .
• Manually abstract codes (no CAC) from charts that may exceed 90 pages.
• Assign IGC codes and ensure accurate functional status scoring.
• Collaborate with the team on coding questions and complex cases.

Systems Used:

• Meditech Expanse
• 3M / Solventum

Schedule & Training:

• Training: 9am–5pm EST, 1:1 support, 3–6 months onboarding depending on experience
• Work Hours: 40 hours/week, EST time zone, flexible post-training, consistent weekends if scheduled

Qualifications:

• Open to AAPC or AHIMA certified coders
• Strong knowledge of IRF PAI, CMGs, multi-comorbidities, and functional scoring
• Experience with Inpatient Rehab or similar facilities preferred

Metrics & Expectations:

• Productivity: 4–5 charts/day (charts can be 90–100+ pages)
• Accuracy: 95%
