Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant & Tasting Room Manager to lead our front-of-house operations with excellence. This role requires a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences, developing and supporting a high-performing team, and managing all aspects of daily operations in our restaurant and tasting room.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing functions: recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.

• Ensure superior customer service by greeting guests, addressing complaints professionally, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

• Manage purchasing, inventory, and cost control of food, beverages, and supplies to minimize waste and meet budget targets.

• Supervise and coach staff in wine service, food preparation, cleaning, maintenance, and guest interactions.

• Conduct daily inspections and audits to uphold safety, sanitation, and quality standards for equipment, food, and wine storage.

• Collaborate weekly with ownership to review operations, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.

• Maintain accurate sales records, cash receipts, budgets, and related accounting functions; assist employees with tip policies.

• Generate regular computerized reports of operations and maintain a thorough knowledge of the POS system.

• Step into operational roles such as server, cashier, or cook when needed to ensure seamless service.

• Engage with customers and the community to support marketing and advertising efforts.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall success.

Sovereign Estate is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery on the north shore of Lake Waconia. We make wine out of estate grown cold climate grapes as well as vinifera varieties from Washington. We host a number of festivals, concerts and private events year round in addition to our regular patio offerings. This position requires a passion for wine, outstanding communication skills, and a strong commitment to hospitality. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in hospitality or wine education, an understanding of wine production and varietals, and a natural ability to create meaningful connections with guests.
