Hardware (Sensor Test) Engineer - Sunnyvale Ca

Job Description:

Meta is looking for a Hardware Engineer to join the team onsite in Sunnyvale, Ca. This individual will work within the Reality Labs organization which brings people around the world together through next generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. This individual will be responsible for smart glass sensor bring-up/ characterization/ validation. This engineer will develop test systems to enable rapid evaluation and testing of sensor sub-systems.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and Validate Sensor Performance
• Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of touch sensors, proximity sensors, ambient light sensors, and inertial measurement units (IMUs) to ensure optimal functionality in smart wearable devices.
• Optimize Sensor Integration and Performance
• Analyze validation data to fine-tune sensor configurations, improve accuracy, and enhance responsiveness across various use cases and environmental conditions.
• Document and Communicate Test Findings
• Prepare detailed test reports, performance summaries, and data visualizations. Present findings and recommendations to engineering and product development teams to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
• Work closely with hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to define test strategies, ensure test coverage, and maintain alignment with product requirements and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with CapTouch Sensor design
• Experience with multiple sensors (ambient light sensor, optical sensor, motion sensor or touch sensor)
• Programming skills to develop software/firmware/scripts for validation, characterization, and prototyping (e.g. Python)
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, R etc.)
• Ability to read schematics Experience with code management tools like Git Familiarity with algorithms

• Job Type: Contract (W2)
• Job Location: Sunnyvale, Ca
• Job Duration: 1 year, plus 1 year extension (2 years)
• Hourly Pay: $80.00-$100.00 per hour
• Work Hours: Monday-Friday / 40 hours per week
