Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic Activity Assistant to join our team at Equinox Terrace. In this role, you will help plan, organize, and lead recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents to promote engagement, wellness, and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing a variety of activities including games, crafts, music, fitness, and special events

• Encourage and motivate resident participation

• Lead group and one-on-one activities tailored to individual needs and interests

• Escort residents to and from activity areas safely

• Help decorate common areas and set up for events

• Maintain accurate attendance records and report resident engagement

• Support residents emotionally and socially, building strong relationships

• Follow safety, health, and infection control procedures at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• The position requires every other weekend, and hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

• Previous experience in recreation, senior care, or customer service preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with seniors or individuals with special needs

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with mobility support as needed

• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willing to obtain)
