As the Maintenance/Transportation Worker, you help ensure students have access to high quality education by providing direct maintenance, transportation, minor maintenance, supply delivery and cleaning to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment.
Custodian $15.50 - 16.00 per hour (depending on experience). This is a full‑time position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance). This position is a traditional school year position (10.5 month). Custodial/cleaning experience is required; qualified candidate will also be required to operate heavy machinery.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, Under the supervision of the Night Lead Custodian, is responsible in cleaning the physical plant, classrooms and other areas. Responsible for minor maintenance to the building as related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform scheduled housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and neat appearance at all District locations.
Assume specific housekeeping duties such as:
Vacuuming and cleaning
Dust mopping
Dusting
Wet mopping
Cleaning glass
Washing and cleaning exterior walkways
Waxing
Buffing
Painting
Stripping
Shampooing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with associates.
Working knowledge about industrial equipment.
Basic knowledge of housekeeping care.
Good physical health.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED.
PREFFERED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience as an custodian
Maintenance experience in electrical, mechanical equipment

Salary/Compensation: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour

We are a Pre‑K through 8th grade school district in Phoenix, Arizona, established as the seventh school district organized in Maricopa County in 1879 and named for Mr. W. J. Wilson, a school board member. The district name was changed in the mid-1930's to Hawkins School. From Wilson to Hawkins to Ward to Skiff, the District was bought by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and relocated to its current location in the early 1980's and named Wilson Primary and Wilson Elementary, opening on Martin Luther King Day in 1985. The district boundaries cover an area from Roosevelt Street to the north; the Salt River to the south; 40th Street to the east; and, 16th Street to the west.
