Job Description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Python Developer to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD .

In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements, designing and coding new software or modifying existing software, and debugging existing software and correcting defects.
  • Responsible for developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories, and for designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
  • Will make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards and will develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
  • Will serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project and will oversee one or more software development teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with the development process constraints.
  • Responsible for designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints. Will design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Will confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university; An additional 4 years of related experience might be substituted for a degree
  • 20+ years of software development experience is required.
  • Experience with Python.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

     

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
