Job Description

Overview MWA Architects is seeking a designer with a passion for creating well-designed projects to join our Portland Interior Environments design studio. We are looking for a team player who is creative, collaborative, responsible, enthusiastic, and organized, and who can adapt to the demands of multiple complex project scopes at all phases of design and construction. You will bring attention to detail, the ability to communicate with the design team and managers, and demonstrate critical judgment and acquired knowledge. Responsibilities Perform assignments designed to develop professional work skills, knowledge, and abilities in a variety of design and technical areas Assist with performing site analysis for existing buildings on renovation work Assist in programming/space planning for projects Assist in developing design solutions for all aspects of a project Assist with finish boards and presentations Assist with materials and specifications research and selection Assist with production of documents and drawings to support project design Participate in coordination with architects and consultants as required Assist with construction administration tasks with guidance from project leadership Assist with post-occupancy data collection if intended for project Take direction on overall project scope and expectations; complete assignments given with assistance from supervisor as needed Participate in professional development activities and continuing education May attend client and industry events as a representative for the firm Requirements Zero (0) to four (4) years of experience within a firm/studio environment A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Accredited program preferred but not required Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape or other 3D modeling/rendering programs Preferred Qualifications Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas Attention to detail and quality of work Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to meet client needs and deadlines Strong communication and presentation skills Interest in sustainable and resilient design An understanding of producing construction documents On a path to professional licensure or accreditation Benefits MWA offers a competitive salary and compensation package including paid time off (PTO), nine paid holidays, and an employer-matched 401K. Salary Base pay range for this role is between $54,000 - $65,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
